BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A couple of years after being featured as part of a season of a nationally televised show, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be launching its own show next week.

“Jefferson County Cam Watch” will premiere at 6:30 p.m. July 13 on CBS 42 and follow deputies with the JCSO as they go about their day-to-day tasks. The show will run every Saturday and will run through Aug. 24. The show will also be available on the JCSO’s YouTube page.

“I have great appreciation for the unwavering dedication of our deputies, who work
tirelessly to prevent crime and arrest those that have harmed others,” Sheriff Mark Pettway
said in a statement. “They deserve recognition and acknowledgment, and we believe this program can be invaluable as we continue our mission to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community; I believe this program will foster greater public appreciation.”

In 2019, the department was featured on the fourth season of “Live PD.”
