NORTH DAKOTA ( KXNET ) — The founder of Pompa Program found out in a study that heavy metals can cause brain fog.

In his blog , Dr. Daniel Pompa references studies about how toxic substances like lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury, and aluminum can pose threats to the health of the central nervous system.

These elements have a tendency to bind to proteins in the brain and cause disruption to normal functioning.

Neurological symptoms include fatigue, irritability, depression, anxiety, and difficulties with concentration — more commonly known as “brain fog.”

One of the studies Pompa references states that mercury is one of the most harmful neurotoxins because of its ability to bind with important molecules in our cells and that disruption has a cascading effect on the body, leading to a range of symptoms like brain fog.

Aluminum was once considered to be safe, but new research now shows that there is a link between high levels in the body and cognitive impairment. Aluminum is found in many consumer goods and personal care products.

Glyphosate is another that allows heavy metals to enter the brain, leading to neurodegeneration. It increases the permeability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB). The BBB is responsible for protecting the brain from harmful substances.

Removing these toxins is key to reserve brain fog and other neurodegenerative conditions.
