General Hospital fans have their hopes up that maybe Carly Spencer and Jason Morgan aren't over for good. While it seemed like the writers had put to rest any hope that they might ever be romantically involved again, the soap recently gave glimpses of a possibility that the pair might reunite down the line.
Laura Wright, who plays Carly, has even shared her thoughts on why the on-screen pair could never be together again. Laura Wright told Soap Opera Digest that they "aren't going to be together moving forward," adding, “I feel like if they are together, they have to be all in and, like, ride into the sunset together. I don’t feel like they can live in the same town with Sonny and function… They just have to be alone.”
But it looks like the writers may have had a change of heart. The writers teased that there may be a future for them during a conversation between Carly and Damian Spinelli, played by Bradford Anderson. Spinelli told her about all the things that Jason had done and sacrificed for her that she didn't know about.
“I’m so moved, to see how much Jason loves me,” she said.

Spinelli said that if he was in Jason shoes, he too would do the same things for his girl, Maxie, played by Kirsten Storms. “I love Maxie the way Jason loves you,” Spinelli said. That alone is enough to give fans hope that there might be more to come from Carly and Jason, and that the writers are going to write them out of the friendzone.
Maxie and Spinelli are a popular super couple on the soap and were once in love. They then separated and became the best of friends for years. But now they are back together. Their story is similar to how Jason and Carly's love story has unfolded.
They were also close friends for so long and then a romance grew from there and due to their circumstances they went their separate ways. Carly's involvement with Sonny is ultimately what broke them and while Jason said they would never be together again, never say never.
While there have been plenty of obstacles for the pair along the way, it looks like the writers are teasing that a Jarly reunion might be on the way soon.
