Tommaso Ciampa On DIY: Hopefully, We’ll Get Back To Where We Were In NXT

Tommaso Ciampa says DIY has been trying to prove themselves on the roster, but it takes time.

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano reunited in October 2023. They had a remarkable run in NXT, both as partners and as rivals. They have struggled to string together consistent momentum on the main roster, but they will challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship on the July 5 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Speaking with Rick Ucchino for Cageside Seats , Tommaso Ciampa discussed DIY’s reunion run up to this point.

“It’s never as quick as you want it to be, I’ll say that much,” Ciampa said. “But it is interesting. All that time spent in NXT you would hear that when you get up to main roster it’s starting over and boy is it ever. There’s exceptions but we are not one of them. So for us it’s just been setting groundwork, trying to prove it bell-to-bell in the ring. That’s kind of where we do our best work. Hopefully six more months, another year in and we will get back to where we were in NXT.”
