Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird's husband reveals he fears for her mental health as she grieves loss of her sister Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell in devastating Mama June: Family Crisis teaser

Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird's husband was left fearing for her mental health as she struggled to cope with the death of her sister Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell to cancer aged 29.

In a new teaser for the Friday, July 5 episode of Mama June : Family Crisis first obtained by People , Josh Efird was seen breaking down in tears as he watched his wife, 24, pick out a vessel to put Chickadee's ashes in.

Josh asks Lauryn to watch a movie while him while she scrolls on her iPad, and says: 'It's not something that I really want to look at, but stuff to put Anna's cremains in.'

Josh says: 'I've been with Pumpkin for almost 10 years and I've seen some damage been dealt over the years but losing Anna has been the worst that I've seen.

'I keep thinking tomorrow she's going to get up, she's going to want to do something, she's going to want to eat [and] then it doesn't come.

'I'm doing everything I can around the house to distract the kids but it's just like they need Mamma P back for sure.'

Lauryn said the death of her sister made her realize everything can change 'in a blink of an eye' saying:  '[Anna's] kids live in different places. I don't want my family or my kids to ever have to  worry about that.

'It's open at least, my eyes, a lot on everything like wanting to be prepared for that moment in my life or Josh's life. You're not promised tomorrow literally anything could happen.'

'Who's gonna raise my kids, my mother [Mama June Shannon]? I don't want that' she says to Josh before suggesting reaching out to a lawyer to make a will.

Josh breaks down in tears and says: 'Anna passing at 29 is a very big eye-opener. To have your priorities in line, it's scary. It really is and me and Pumpkin need to get on it -soon.'

Mama June, 44, recently opened up about her ' dysfunctional ' family to People after Chickadee's death from stage 4 adrenal cancer in December.

'We are dysfunctional,' she said. 'But we were saying earlier too though, it is always kind of just been us.

'So regardless of all the hardships and the arguing and all that stuff, we are all we have left,' added Mama June.

She explained that it's 'always' just been her and her daughters, adding, 'Their fathers haven't been involved and stuff like that.

'So if today, [my husband] Justin [Stroud] left me, Josh left Pumpkin, Dralin left her, Cheyenne left her, we would all have to move in the same house with the babies and we would just do life,' Shannon said.

Mama June also shared Stroud's 'favorite saying' about their unique brood: 'I've never seen a family like this.'

'We can argue sitting right here and in an hour later we're calling each other and talking like nothing ever happened,' Shannon explained.

Chickadee's mother announced her death on Instagram in December. 'With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us,' she began.

'She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM,' Mama June added.

'She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she [wanted[ and we will will be updating y'all with more information as we get it today.'

Shannon concluded, 'We love y'all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family [during] this difficult time.'

Chickadee underwent chemotherapy and immunotherapy before revealing last summer that her caner was terminal.

Meanwhile, she tied the knot with partner Eldridge Toney on March 4, 2023 in Wilkinson County, Georgia while she still felt well enough.

The final hours of her life, which she spent in hospice, were filmed for her family's show Mama June: Family in Crisis .

After Mama June was awarded custody of Chickadee's daughters Kaitlyn Elizabeth, 11, and 8-year-old Kylee Madison, her ex Michael Cardwell sued for custody of their daughter Kylee .

In addition to Chickadee, Mama June is mother to Jessica Shannon, 27, Lauryn Efird, 24, and 18-year-old Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson.
