For the first time, you can get married at the Dakota County Fair

Imagine a wedding featuring a corndog reception, cheese curd confetti, and blooming onions instead of flowers. It could now happen for couples who choose to exchange their vows at the Dakota County Fair.

The fair has announced for the first time in its history it will be offering free wedding officiations for attendees.

The fair is collaborating with Dakota County Courts for this year's event, which will take place between Aug. 5 and 11 at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington.

In the evenings, judges will officiate weddings and complimentary services will be provided at the Bandstand Pavilion.

For couples ready to say "I do" at the carnival, they must reserve a spot by contacting the Dakota County Court Administration at 1stDakotaAdmin@court.state.mn.us
