General Hospital spoilers: Ava takes off with Avery?

For months now, General Hospital ’s Ava (Maura West) has been doing things to make herself persona non grata in Port Charles.

First, she made sure to encourage Sonny (Maurice Benard) to push away those closest to him like Carly (Laura Wright), Jason (Steve Burton) and Michael (Chad Duell). Then, Ava stabbed her bestie Nina (Cynthia Watros) in the back in an effort to be with Sonny, which didn’t work out as she envisioned. Now with her and Sonny at odds, Ava attempted to take a swipe at him by going after Natalia (Eva LaRue), someone he’s been getting to know. Ava made sure to leak the audio of Natalia (Eva LaRue) making disparaging remarks about same-sex issues.

Not only has the leak frustrated Natalia, Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and Kristina (Kate Mansi), but it also drew the ire of Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who became furious to learn that Ava was responsible for the clip. In the General Hospital episode airing on July 3, Alexis confronts Ava and threatens legal action. Alexis also brings up the fact that Ava is a murderer. Ava initially pretends to be unphased, but she ultimately becomes concerned enough to contact Scott (Kin Shriner).

When her attorney shows up, he makes it clear that Alexis is a formidable opponent in the courtroom, and Ava shouldn’t take her threat lightly. He also paints the picture that Ava’s role in the leak could prove detrimental in her custody battle with Sonny. In fact, he hints that unless Sonny commits murder, there’s a good chance Ava loses custody. That’s not exactly the thing she wanted to hear. She probably also wouldn’t want to know that Sonny swore to Alexis that he would make sure Ava never saw Avery (Ava & Grace Scarola) again.

With it starting to look like Ava is boxing herself into a corner, with more enemies than allies, is it possible that it's time for her to take Avery and get out of Port Charles? We think so.

Now if Ava takes off with Avery, Sonny would naturally be furious and seek to hunt her down like a lion does a prey. Knowing Sonny’s vast amount of resources, Ava may be forced to turn to ex-hubby Nikolas (Adam Huss) for some help, as the Cassadines likely have the way and the means to get Ava and her daughter out of town, and away from Sonny’s people.

Speaking of Cassadines, we can’t rule out the possibility that Ava turns to Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) instead of Nikolas for help with her Sonny problem. While she knows Sonny’s bipolar medication is being tampered with, she doesn’t know yet that Valentin is responsible. It’s not hard to imagine that she finds out and blackmails him into helping her with her Sonny problem. That could lead to Valentine helping her escape, or him pushing Sonny over the edge to land the kingpin in prison.

While we can’t be for certain what happens next between Ava and Sonny, we predict things are about to take a very nasty turn.
