A new season of "The Bachelorette" premieres soon and will star ABC's first Asian-American bachelorette.

After rumors flew around Bachelor Nation about who the next lead of "The Bachelorette" would be, many assumed fan-favorite, Maria Georgas, would take the hot seat.

But Jesse Palmer shocked Bachelor Nation when he announced Jenn Tran as the new "Bachelorette" on the reality show's "After the Final Rose" episode.

Jenn's selection is historic in Bachelor Nation, as she is the first Asian-American lead in the franchise's history.

Here's what to know about season 21 of "The Bachelorette," the 25 men she'll be dating (including three from Florida) and how to watch the first episode on Monday, July 8.

"The Bachelorette" season 21 will premiere on ABC at 8 p.m. EST Monday, July 8, 2024.

How do I stream 'The Bachelorette'?

Episodes of "The Bachelorette" season 21 with Jenn Tran stream on Hulu every Tuesday (the reality TV dating competition airs on Monday nights).

Who is Jenn Tran? Meet 'The Bachelorette' currently living in Florida

Jenn Tran is a 26-year-old physician assistant student living in Miami. According to Bachelor Nation Wiki, she's originally from Hillsdale, New Jersey.

"Jenn is bubbly and compassionate, and has dedicated her life to helping others. She is currently studying to become a physician assistant, and while she is passionate about working in health care, she is also ready to prioritize finding love," her Bachelor Nation Wiki biography says.

Tran is also the first-ever Asian star of a Bachelor Nation franchise, and talked about her Vietnamese background in several episodes of Joey Graziadei's season of "The Bachelor." In the history of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette," ABC has never had an Asian lead looking for love − until Tran.

How far did Jenn Tran make it on 'The Bachelor' with Joey Graziadei?

After riding in on a go-kart and capturing Joey's heart during the season 28 premiere episode of "The Bachelor," Jenn Tran was sent home in a black SUV seven weeks later.

Jenn and tennis pro Joey Graziadei shared many romantic moments during the seven weeks she stayed on the show, until Joey ultimately sent her home right before hometown dates. During the "Women Tell All" episode, host Jesse Palmer called Jenn up to the hot seat to talk about her emotional departure from "The Bachelor."

"Seeing how good it was between us and going into it, I really just wanted to put everything on the line," Jenn said. "I wanted to put my whole heart into the experience and be vulnerable and talk about the things that make me, me."

Jenn was sent home right before hometown dates, which would have meant bringing Joey home to meet her family. Before the rose ceremony that would determine which women got to bring Joey home, she explained to Joey that her family situation is complex. She called her upbringing "traumatic" and "toxic" because her parents fought a lot while she was growing up. She shared with him that she was no longer speaking to her father.

Jenn shared that being on the show was transformative for her, serving as a stepping stone to improving her relationship with her family, especially with her brother and mother.
