Mohamed Salah has been keeping Liverpool fans in the loop with his off-season activities via social media. Just hours after new sporting director Richard Hughes provided an update on his future , the Egyptian superstar shared a post showing what he has been up to.

Liverpool announced on Friday that Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah, Sepp van den Berg, Owen Beck, Curtis Jones , Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas have all started pre-season training. This announcement came just before Arne Slot's inaugural press conference as Liverpool's new head coach.

Salah, on the other hand, has been given a bit more time off after playing in two African World Cup qualification matches for Egypt in June. The forward will join his team later, but is expected to be present for the entirety of Liverpool's pre-season after the club decided to keep him instead of releasing him for the upcoming Olympic Games.

The men's football tournament at the Olympics starts on July 24, with the final on August 9, just eight days before Liverpool's Premier League season begins away at Ipswich Town. As reported by the ECHO earlier this week, Liverpool are not worried about upsetting their star player after deciding to keep Salah for the whole summer schedule instead of letting him fly out with his national team to compete for a gold medal in France.

Salah recently took to Instagram showing fans how he's been enjoying his downtime with family over the past few weeks. He attached a picture of himself, sporting his new short hairstyle and some sunglasses in a white linen outfit, not attaching any caption to the post but seemingly indicated he is still away on holiday.

As for the discussion on Salah's contract, which is one of the contracts at Anfield due to conclude this summer, Liverpool's new sporting director Richard Hughes chose not to dig into it too deeply.

Hughes stated: "Contractual situations, I don't think it would be fair for me to talk about. These are private matters between club and players.

"The only concern I have, that Arne has, about those situations and everyone else in the squad is that there is total commitment from the players to the cause for next season and we are absolutely convinced that is the case."
