Get ready to sink your teeth into all-new shark content. This year’s Shark Week on the Discovery Channel will take place beginning July 7 and will feature 21 hours of content, including shows like 6000lb Shark, Alien Sharks: Ghosts of Japan, and Great White Serial Killer: Sea of Blood , amongst many others.

This year’s host will be actor and former wrestler John Cena , taking the post over from Jason Mamoa, who hosted in 2023.

“I usually do Shark Week from my couch – with lots of snacks, but this year I’m beyond excited to host the week dedicated to the endlessly fascinating, action heroes of the Ocean,” Cena said in a press release . “It’s a wild week of shocking new footage, new discoveries, and lots and lots of teeth.”

Shark Week programming takes place Sunday, July 7 through Saturday, July 13.

What Time Is Shark Week Airing?

Shark Week kicks off on July 7, with Belly of the Beast: Bigger and Bloodier at 8 PM ET/PT. Monday through Thursday, Shark Week will premiere new shows from 8PM ET/PT to 10PM ET/PT with encores running at 11PM ET/PT. The exceptions to this are Sunday, Day One, with Sydney Harbor Shark Invasion taking the place of the encore. On Friday and Saturday, encores will run at both 10 PM ET/PT and 11PM.
