    3 more Siouxland counties included in Presidential Major Disaster Declaration

    DES MOINES, Iowa (KCAU) — Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced Friday that three more Siouxland counties have been approved for Individual Assistance under the June Presidential Major Disaster Declaration.

    Reynolds said the three new counties are Buena Vista, Cherokee and O’Brien Counties. The counties have been added to other counties already under the FEMA Individual Assistance Program which includes Clay, Emmet, Lyon, Plymouth, and Sioux Counties.

    The approval for these new counties comes under the Presidential Major Disaster Declaration FEMA DR-4796-IA for damage from severe storms, flooding, straight-line winds, and tornadoes that started on June 16, 2024, and continues.
