STROMBOLI ISLAND, Italy (KMID/KPEJ)- A video showed the moment when a volcano located on Mt. Stromboli experienced an impressive “Stream of Fire.” The INGV Vulcani released both infrared and camera footage of the moment the flow entered the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The volcano, Mt. Stromboli, has been in continuous eruption for the past 2,000 years and is known to have the geological feature of a Sciara Del Fuco (Stream of Fire).

The Stream of Fire is a big horse-shoe-shaped depression that was made over the last 13,000 years by several collapses of land according to The European Space Agency.

INGV Vulcani released both infrared and camera footage of the moment the flow entered the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The eruptions from the summit are known to result in a few short- but energetic bursts of ash, incandescent lava, and stone blocks that can range up to hundreds of meters in height.
