Zach Bryan getting some high praise from the great John Mayer. Please don't roll your eyes when I say "the great" John Mayer. If you still know him as a pop star who sang "Daughters," do yourself and favor and dive into some of his latest work, where's he proven himself as one of the greatest guitar players of his generation. If you tuned into Zach Bryan's new album
The Great American Bar Scene , then you actually have already tested out some of Mayer. The 46-year-old artist was featured on the song "Better Days," playing some instantly recognizable guitar riffs and providing backing vocals to the country star. After teasing a collaboration with Mayer - then deleting it - fans finally found out that John would be a part of the album when Bryan brought him out on stage for a performance of their unreleased song together, along with a spirited "Revival" guitar battle. It was shortly after that when John Mayer praised Bryan for tapping into something very special with his fanbase. And that praise from the "Gravity" singer continued when he shared a link to he and Bryan's new song yesterday. Mayer has always had a way with words (go listen to "Stop This Train" if you don't believe me), and he certainly waxed poetically about "Better Days" and being a part of Bryan's album:
"' Better Days' by Zach Bryan and me off Zach’s new album 'The Great American Bar Scene' is out now. I always knew this song Zach wrote was special. I had no idea how beautiful, powerful and deep an album it would be a part of. I'm stunned. I'm blessed to have been able to fulfill my dreams of making music. What I never saw coming: to be asked to play with an artist as deeply tapped-in as Zach Bryan is. Thank you for inviting me into your dream-coming-true." https://twitter.com/johnmayer/status/1808915734434828783?s=46&t=sK4ZxpXri80bfkXt_M8Cog Here's to hoping that Bryan and Mayer continue to work together, because they really hit it out of the park with "Better Days." As a Mayer fan myself, I might be a little biased, but for my money, it's the best song on the entire album. Take a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLMns1UUoCw
