I-44 buckles in the heat, expect lane closures

DOOLITTLE, Mo. (KOAM) — About 3 p.m. Friday temps across the Midwest continue in the 90s. And on I-44 near the 176 mile marker numerous vehicles reported damage as the roadway buckled in the heat!

“Avoid the area of the 176 westbound near the rest area! The roadway is once again ‘blowing up’ and has already damaged several vehicles.”

MoDOT Central Missouri District dispatched  crews who were out repairing the buckle within an hour.

DFPD share images of the workers in the passing lane which will remain closed until the repairs are confirmed.
