Sunset Ellis Drive-In hosting ‘Family Splash Day’ this weekend

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — If you’re looking to get into some family fun over the weekend, the Sunset Ellis Drive-In has something the whole family will enjoy.

On Saturday, July 6, Sunset Ellis Drive-In will be hosting a ‘Family Splash Day’ with water bounce houses, face painting, balloon animals and raffles, along with 20 different vendors selling food and homemade crafts.

The event will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a firework display to round out the evening.

During the event, the drive-in will show the premiere of the highly anticipated film, Despicable 4 and close out the night with a family-favorite movie, E.T.

12 News spoke with Sunset Ellis manager, Brittany Hurst, on why hosting an event like this was important to the establishment.

“We know Despicable Me is a big movie and we think it’s good for families to come out and enjoy one another and put the phones away for an evening. There’s nothing really like that anymore and that’s why we say bring the lawn chairs. You get to sit and enjoy your family time while the kids are at the bounce houses having a good time,” Hurst said.

This event is cash only with $15 admission for adults and $10 for children. Ages three and under are admitted for free.
