UPDATE (11:35 p.m.) - The Lake Fire has burned 13,264 acres, according to an update from Cal Fire at 11:06 p.m. Saturday. Cal Fire did not provide containment data.

Cal Fire's update at 5:08 p.m. had the total acreage burned at 12,271. That's an increase of nearly 1,000 acres between updates.

UPDATE (1:43 p.m.) - The Lake Fire has burned 12,227 acres and is 0% contained, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Fire officials add that ten air tankers and three Type 1 helicopters have been assigned to the fire for retardant and water drops.

In a post on X, Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Scott Safechuck explained how good defensible space at the Zaca Lake Resort helped firefighters defend the resort's structures from the flames. The resort was evacuated shortly after the fire broke out on Friday afternoon.

UPDATE (10:54 a.m.) - According to the latest update from Los Padres National Forest officials, the Lake Fire, which broke out Friday afternoon near Zaca Lake, has the potential for large growth over the next 24 hours. The fire is burning in grass, brush and timber and reportedly burning toward the northwest and to the south.

UPDATE (8:58 a.m.) - According to the U.S. Forest Service, the Lake Fire made a significant run to the west Friday evening and by 11:30 p.m. had grown to 4,674 acres. A Complex Incident Management Team has been ordered.

UPDATE (6:18 a.m., Saturday) - The evacuation warning for the Lake Fire has been expanded to include areas north of Zaca Creek Road, east of Foxen Canyon Road, and south of the Sisquoc River.

Residents in the evacuation warning area are encouraged to be ready to leave at a moment's notice.

UPDATE (11:10 p.m.) - The Lake Fire, burning near Zaca Lake in the Los Padres National Forest, has grown to an estimated 4,673 acres, according to the latest information from CAL FIRE.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

UPDATE (9:21 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County officials have issued an evacuation warning for the areas of Figueroa Mountain Road from the Forest Station to Chamberlin Ranch.

The county's public works department said Figueroa Mountain Road at Midland School is closed .

The Lake Fire has burned over 500 acres, per Cal Fire.

UPDATE (6:12 p.m.) - The latest mapping shows the Lake Fire has burned 296 acres, according to the National Weather Service.

Meteorologists report temperatures in the area are near 90 degrees with winds gusting to near 15 mph.

UPDATE (5:20 p.m.) - The Lake Fire has burned an estimated 100 acres of brush and grass, according to Los Padres National Forest officials.

UPDATE (5:10 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County firefighters have evacuated Zaca Lake Resort.

(4:28 p.m., Friday) - Firefighters are responding to a vegetation fire in the area of Figueroa Mountain Road and Zaca Lake north of Los Olivos.

The fire was first reported at about 3:45 p.m. on Friday.

A large plume of dark smoke can be seen from much of Santa Barbara County.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department and the U.S. Forest Service are responding.
