WASHINGTON — Posters of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza, including eight Americans, were torn from the wall of Rep. Brad Schneider’s Capitol Hill office in a “vile act of hate” on Independence Day, the congressman said Friday.

Schneider posted an image of the vandalism to the social media site X , showing shredded posters on the floor of the Cannon House Office Building.

More than 250 people were kidnapped Oct. 7 in Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel. Roughly 120 people are still being held in the region.

Schneider is known as one of the most pro-Israel members of Congress. Protestors calling for an end to Israel’s war in Gaza demonstrated outside his Highland Park home last weekend.

“These actions don’t advance peace,” Schneider wrote . “Instead, they play directly into the hands of Hamas terrorists enabling them to continue to hold hostage not only those they kidnapped from Israel, but all civilians in Gaza as well.”
