    Adelanto residents wake up to find cars shot up in their neighborhood

    Several residents of an Adelanto neighborhood found their cars had been struck by gunfire following a shooting on Friday morning, police said.

    A witness reported hearing gunfire about 9 a.m. outside an apartment complex in the 11200 block of Lee Avenue, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials.

    "Deputies responded and located multiple fired cartridge casings and several vehicles had been struck by gunfire," the department said in a written statement . Authorities did not say how many vehicles were damaged.

    A search of the area turned up no injured victims and no suspect, officials said.

    No further details were released.
