NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – For the dog days of summer, Craven County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit is hitting the highways and byways, working to keep county residents safe.

“During the summer months, more people are out and about,” Sgt. Hopper with the K-9 Unit said. “Especially on beach days, your weekends or your holidays, you have all that traffic going down to Morehead City, Jacksonville, Atlantic Beach. All those areas.”
