    Woman dead, two adults and 6-year-old injured after Fourth of July crash in Henrico

    HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia State Police (VSP) is investigating a July 4 single-vehicle crash that left one woman dead and three people injured, including a 6-year-old girl.

    According to the department, at around 3:16 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, a car was moving east on the Pocahontas Parkway when it went off the left side of the road, struck a guardrail, overturned and came to rest in the westbound lanes.

    53-year-old passenger Shirley M. Bain, from North Chesterfield, was ejected from the vehicle and later died after being taken to an area hospital. The driver, 52-year-old Christopher L. Bain, suffered serious injuries. According to state police, neither of them were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

    Two other passengers, 24-year-old Courtney R. O’Neill and a six-year-old girl, had minor injuries.

    Virginia State Police is still investigating the incident.
