    Road Construction Update: Bismarck Metro Area

    BISMARCK, ND ( KXNET ) — Bismarck drivers need to be aware of a few major road construction projects when they head out on their morning commute, beginning Monday, July 8.

    Here is the latest information from the City of Bismarck Engineering Department:

    Century Avenue (4th Street to Tyler Parkway)

    • Lanes: reduced from two to one
    • Timeline: three months (weather permitting)
    • Construction: roadway, curb, gutter, sidewalk, pedestrian curb ramp

    Divide Avenue (Eastbound Lanes, 4th Street to State Street)

    • Lanes: closed
    • Detour: north on 4th Street to Capitol Avenue, then east on Capitol Avenue to State Street, and south on State Street back to Divide Avenue
    • Timeline: six weeks (weather permitting)
    • Construction: roadway

    Thayer Ave & 3rd Street Intersection

    • Intersection: closed
    • Detour: southbound traffic (3rd Street) – west on Rosser Avenue to 2nd Street, then south to Broadway Avenue, and east back to 3rd Street
    • Detour: northbound traffic (3rd Street) – east on Broadway Avenue to 4th Street, then north to Rosser Avenue, and west back to 3rd Street
    • Timeline: 10 days (weather permitting)
    • Construction: roadway, curb, gutter

    Railroad Avenue (24th Street to 26th Street)
    Beginning on Monday, July 8, Railroad Avenue will be closed to through traffic from 24th Street to 26th Street for one month (weather permitting), so city crews can work on replacing a water main in the area. Local traffic will be permitted to access the street.
