    low are summaries of local Victory League baseball games between June 28 and June 30, compiled by Nick Tabatt.

    Ski win road game against Bluejays

    The Sobieski Skis earned a victory on the road Sunday, June 30, beating the Upsala Bluejays 6-2. The winning pitcher Collin Eckman pitched two innings, throwing seven strikeouts and allowing four hits. At the plate, Matt Baier went 2-3, hitting a home run, an RBI and a run. Other Skis with RBIs were Eckman, Joey Welinski, Collin Kray and Dusty Parker. The Skis ended the game with 13 hits and one error.

    The Bluejays’ Jeremy Mugg led the team on offense, going 1-4 at the plate with two RBIs. Runs were scored by CJ Clear and Jack Primus. Bryce Binek pitched four innings, allowing six hits and two walks. Hunter Moore stepped in for six innings, throwing five strikeouts. The Bluejays had seven hits and two errors.

    Brewers upset Riverdogs

    The Pierz Brewers had a hard fought battle with the Royalton Riverdogs, managing to shut them out 2-0. The Brewers’ Gunnar Wicklund led the team with two hits out of four plate appearances and earned a walk. Rylee Rauch and Ryan Stuckmayer both scored the two runs for the team. Pete Schommer pitched four innings, throwing five strikeouts. As a whole, the Brewers had nine hits and one error.

    The Riverdogs’ Zach Cekalla led the team at the plate going 1-3. Nate Psyck was on the mound for nine innings, also throwing five strikeouts allowed three walks. The Riverdogs finished with one hit and three errors.

    Cubs beat Opole at home

    The Randall Cubs hosted Opole, outscoring them 6-5. The Cubs’ Zach Gwost pitched all nine innings, throwing nine strikeouts, and allowing three walks. Zach Gwost had one RBI, one run and two stolen bases. Other Cubs with stolen bases were Caleb Strack, Kyle Peterschick, Brett Strack and Alex Gwost. The Cubs had11 hits and two errors. Opole had three errors and nine hits.

    Rebels beat Nisswa

    The Rebels had a sucessful home against Nisswa, winning 4-1.Bryce Flanagan pitched all nine innings, throwing nine strikeouts and allowed six hits. Mason Argir went 2-3 at the plate, hitting a double and had two runs batted in. Others with RBIs were Flanagan and Alex Haapojoki. The Rebels ended the game with eight hits and Nisswa with six. Neither team had an error.

    Swanville dominates Flensberg

    The Swanville Swans dominated the Flensberg Falcons on the road, beating them 16-5 in seven innings. The Swans’ winning pitcher Hundson Pung was on the mound for five innings, throwing one strikeout. He allowed six hits and one walk. Levi Beseman pitched for two innings, allowing four hits and one walk. Beseman also went 3-3 at the plate with one walk and two runs. Pung went 2-3 with three runs. Nathan Lambrecht went 3-4 with one run and one walk.

    The Falcons’ Carter Holman and Juan Melanciano both had three hits in four plate appearances. Melanciano earned two runs for the team and Holman had one. Peter Knopik pitched four innings, throwing two strikeouts.

    Lakers defeat St. Mathias and St Wendel

    The Pierz Lakers upset St. Mathias with a 13-3 home win in seven innings. The Lakers’ Preston Rocheleau threw five strikeouts on the mound and allowed two walks. At the plate, Carter Petron and Kolton Happke went 2-4 and each hit two doubles. Those with RBIs were Carter Petron, Brady Petron, Paul Herman, Chad Weiss, and Chase Becker. The Lakers had 13 hits and one error while St. Mathias had six errors and six hits.

    After a long 14-inning road game, the Randall Cubs beat St. Wendel 5-2 Saturday, June 29. The winning pitcher, Travis Wenzel pitched over three innings, throwing three strikeouts. Caleb Strack stepped in for 10 innings, throwing 20 strikeouts, allowing four hits, two walks and no runs. After a short stint with Rick Drew on the mound, allowing one hit, Strack stepped in for the remainder of the 14th inning, throwing two more strikeouts. Kyle Peterschick went 1-7 at the plate, hitting a double and two RBIs. Strack also went 1-7 with a double, an RBI and one stolen base. After the long game, The Cubs had 10 hits and two errors. St. Wendel had five hits and four errors.

    Lakers beat the Skis

    The Pierz Lakers had a close home game against the Sobieski Skis, but came up with a 4-5 victory Friday, June 28. The Lakers’ Chase Becker pitched four innings, throwing seven strikeouts. Carter Petron was on the mound for five innings, throwing eight strikeouts. Kamden Happke went 2-3 at the plate with two runs batted in. Others with RBIs were Brady Petron and Pete Herman.

    The Skis’ Matt Filippi led the team at the plate, with four hits out of five plate appearances and earned three stolen bases. Collin Kray went 1-4 with one run and one walk. Kray also had a home run and one RBI. Beau Thoma was on the mound for under one inning, throwing one strikeout and allowing one hit. Filippi pitched seven innings, throwing 10 strikeouts and allowed three walks. Collin Kray pitched the last inning, with one strikeout and allied three hits.
