DIY Win WWE Tag Titles On 7/5 WWE SmackDown

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have finally won the gold.

In the main event of the July 5 episode of WWE SmackDown, DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. The two teams battled it out in a thrilling bout. Ciampa and Gargano honored their NXT run by hitting FTR’s Shatter Machine for a near fall.

A a key point in the match, Waller accidentally hit Theory. The champions persevered and nearly scored the win, but in the end, Gargano made Waller tap out to the Gargano Escape.

Gargano and Ciampa then emotionally celebrated their first main-roster title win together after the bell.

Waller and Theory previously won the titles in a Six-Pack Ladder Match at WWE WrestleMania 40.

Gargano and Ciampa are former NXT Tag Team Champions, but neither man had won a title on the main roster before Friday night.
