Kendrick Lamar has set social media on fire with the music video for his record-breaking Drake diss record Not Like Us.

The West Coast rapper’s visual creatively illuminated the coolness of Black southern California culture, specifically the unique swagger that is cultivated from being a Compton native. Kendrick’s music video was so detailed that fans couldn’t help but give him kudos for his excellent execution on X, formerly Twitter.

“Watched the 'Not Like Us' video about 10x now and I just hope that all artists realize the importance of visuals,” one wrote on the social media platform. “The video gave the song new life and almost felt like hearing it for the first time again. Taking music videos seriously is so important in my opinion.”

Another agreed: “It was much more lowkey than I thought it would be on first watch but the second viewing made me realize why. it’s masterful really. I keep watching it.”

A third praised: “From the ‘Like That’ verse all the way up until this ‘Not Like Us’ music video, has been the most flawless execution I’ve ever seen in Hip Hop.”

Someone else raved: “Mann the symbolism in this ‘Not Like Us’ video best music video I’ve seen in years ..amazing …”

Also on X, countless highlighted their favorite moments from the music video and acknowledged the depth of the symbolism included in the Poetic Justice rapper’s visual.

“So many people are overlooking that final shot in Kendrick’s ‘Not Like Us’ music video,” one wrote on X, referring to the scene where Kendrick was looking at a large owl locked in a cage. “It’s a Canadian Barn Owl, known for being a top predator, behind bars. The symbolism.”

“Kendrick dropped a whole music video of Not Like Us and brought his own f- - -kin family in the video HAVING FUN THIS IS F- - -ING FUNNY CAUSE OF WHAT DRAKE SAID HAHAAA,” a fan noted on X.

Near the end of the video, Kendrick and his fiance Whitney Alford happily danced with each other along with their two kids Uzi and Enoch, seemingly addressing Drake’s claims. In Drake’s song Family Matters, he accused Kendrick of abusing Whitney, and that she was unfaithful to him.

Overall, the Not Like Us music video has been a hit, just like the song has. As of now, it doesn’t look like Drake or Kendrick will be calling a truce anytime soon.
