England's Euro 2024 campaign pits them against Switzerland in the quarterfinals on Saturday after they battled back to secure a 2-1 extra-time win over Slovakia in the previous round.

The Three Lions are yet to ignite at the tournament and their passage to the last eight owes plenty to midfield star Jude Bellingham.

The Real Madrid star scored the winning goal in England's opening 1-0 victory over Serbia, and his spectacular injury-time goal against Slovakia forced extra time before Harry Kane's eventual clincher in Cologne.

However, amid his crucial on-pitch display, Bellingham was embroiled in controversy against Slovakia, with UEFA opening an investigation into the 21-year-old's conduct.

European football's governing body has since offered an update on Bellingham's availability to face the Swiss.

Is Jude Bellingham playing today vs. Switzerland?

England fans can breathe a sigh of relief ahead of facing Switzerland with Bellingham cleared by UEFA to play .

Following a rapid investigation into Bellingham's crotch-grabbing gesture during the Slovakia game, he learned his punishment from UEFA on July 5 and has been cleared to be included in Southgate's squad to face the Swiss.

UEFA issued the midfielder with a €30,000 fine and a suspended one-match ban.

That means Bellingham will not miss any games at the tournament due to the incident against Slovakia, unless he is found guilty of breaking UEFA rules again.

However, Turkey centre-back Merih Demiral did not escape direct punishment for a similar offence. The player was given a two-game ban following his apparent "wolf salute" in their 2-1 Round of 16 win over Austria.

    What did Jude Bellingham do?

On July 1, UEFA confirmed its Ethics and Disciplinary board had opened an investigation into Bellingham, focusing on a potential violation by the midfielder of the "basic rules of decent conduct".

Bellingham was spotted making what appeared to be a crotch-grabbing gesture after scoring his spectacular bicycle kick. The player later said via social media that it was "an inside joke" to friends inside the stadium, and not aimed at the opposition bench.

🥱❌- An inside joke gesture towards some close friends who were at the game. Nothing but respect for how that Slovakia team played tonight.🤝🏽 https://t.co/H8sETMkPoi

The suggestion was Bellingham could have breached rule 11 2b in UEFA's disciplinary regulations for 2024. The article in question states that any person subject to UEFA's regulations has to "comply with the principles of ethical conduct, loyalty, integrity and sportsmanship".

Article 11 makes it clear that anyone "whose conduct is insulting or otherwise violates the basic rules of decent conduct" will have committed a breach of those principles.
