Solo Sikoa took over The Bloodline once Roman Reigns was absent from WWE TV after losing to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. He collected several Samoans from all over to continue what Reigns started.

He proved the group's dominance while seemingly becoming the next contender for Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at WWE's Money in the Bank event in Canada. Sikoa, joined by Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu, pinned Rhodes clean, beating him and teammates Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.

It was a match with interference and ref bumps, a classic Bloodline play. Fatu, the former MLW star, looked like an animal by not breaking a sweat against the WWE vets. He can be a major player for years to come.

Sikoa, who took out Paul Heyman on a recent episode of SmackDown, looked more confident as he used spikes and his brains to outmaneuver his opposition. With a win against Rhodes, Sikoa is ready to make the summer one to remember for The Bloodline.

The new Bloodline looks to be WWE's future. Meanwhile, the past finally announced its expiration date.

John Cena, around since the early 2000s, announced his retirement from WWE. He will compete at next year’s Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber events, with his last match at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

As one chapter of WWE closes, another opens, or continues, in an epic rivalry between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk.

Punk stopped McIntyre from potentially winning the World Heavyweight Title. McIntyre won the Money in the Bank ladder match to start the night. He said he would cash in that night, which had champion Damian Priest and Seth “Freakin’” Rollins looking over their shoulder all match.

Once McIntyre did come out, anything was possible. To quote the late Bray Wyatt, Drew McIntyre had the whole world in his hands. Unfortunately for him, Punk had other plans.

Looking healthy for the first time since injuring himself in January, Punk attacked McIntyre, not allowing him to hold gold again. Priest retained, while Punk smiled as Rollins was upset he interfered in the match. It will be Priest vs. Gunther this summer, while Punk will be busy with Rollins and, more specifically, McIntyre.

In the other Money in the Bank ladder match, Tiffany Stratton secured her future by winning the women’s match. It’s officially Tiffy Time after a brutal contest with a few botches. The 25-year-old star is ready to take over WWE, and the fans can’t wait to see what she does.

Sami Zayn continued his run as a fighting champion when he successfully defended the WWE Intercontinental Title against Bron Breakker. Using moves dedicated to his family, the Steiner’s, Breakker bullied Zayn through the match. However, he overused his power and seemed to have tweaked his knee at one point.

Zayn, fighting back the whole contest, took advantage and landed a Helluva Kick to end it. The young Breakker can learn from this match and grow. Zayn shined once again while making his opponent look like a star.

WWE Money in the Bank 2024 results, highlights

Hello everyone, and welcome to The Sporting News' coverage of Money in the Bank!

Drew McIntyre holds the future in his hands, wins men's Money in the Bank match

The men's Money in the Bank ladder match opened the show. Drew McIntyre, a man on a mission, dominated the start of the match. Andrade took control by moving everyone out of the ring. Carmelo Hayes was a real standout, using his athletic abilities to outperform everyone.

Andrade landed a brutal Spanish Fly to Hayes onto a ladder. Ouch. Jey Uso and McIntyre, two of the favorites to win the match, squared off, with Uso getting the better of the exchange. Chad Gable and LA Knight traded ladder spots, while Knight got the crowd going with his "Yeah!" phrase. Gable had Hayes in an Ankle Lock between two ladders. McIntyre took over again until Uso neutralized him and got close to the briefcase.

Andrade landed a powerbomb onto a ladder, with Hayes once again getting the short end of the stick. Knight's head accidentally hit the ladder, and then he got suplexed onto one. Gable was hanging up top after Uso took the ladder from him. Uso looked to be in the clear until McIntyre threw a ladder at him. McIntyre was all alone and grabbed the briefcase.

McIntyre has all the power now, and looks to cash in tonight. If Priest is still champion, McIntyre will avenge the cash-in from WrestleMania. The match was chaotic, but the top stars in the company got time to shine.

Sami Zayn defends the WWE Intercontinental Title against Bron Breakker next. Breakker is the next big thing while Zayn is the plucky hometown underdog. Who will hold gold by the end of the match?

Sami Zayn survives Bron Breakker's power, retains Intercontinental Title

Breakker used his power early, ragdolling Zayn around. He punished Zayn, who continued his run of not giving up. Suplexes, elbows, and clotheslines landed. Breakker was toying with Zayn and messing with the crowd. Zayn fired back with chops. Breakker went to his roots (Steiner family) and did pushups beside a downed Zayn.

Zayn used elbows and a DDT to finally take Breakker down. He countered Breakker's offense and got him out of the ring, momentum finally on his side. Just when it was thought he would chop Breakker down, Zayn got hit with a huge clothesline out of the ring. A desperation Blue Thunder Bomb landed but only for two.

A top rope Frankensteiner by Breakker connected but only for two. He taunted Zayn, who continued to fight back. A Breakker spear attempt on the outside was blocked, but he landed a flying clothesline onto Zayn, who was draped on the announce table. Breakker was holding his knee, which Zayn used to land an exploder. A Helluva Kick attempt got blocked, but Breakker's spear attempt got blocked into a Helluva Kick for a Zayn win.

Zayn's underdog and fighter gimmick thrived in this match, while Breakker looked like a star. A shocking outcome, considering Breakker was on a wild run before this match. But Zayn continues to make his reign as IC Champion a memorable one.

Trish Stratus came out and introduced John Cena. He showed a "The Last Time is Now" towel. His shirt said, "After this, you can't see me." He announced his retirement from WWE. His last match will be at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas following

Seth "Freakin'" Rollins looks to win back the World Heavyweight Title when he challenges Damian Priest.

Bad Blood: CM Punk stops Drew McIntyre from winning gold, Damian Priest retains

Both wrestlers started clubbing one another right away. Priest, the bigger of the two, used his power to his advantage. Commentary discussed the idea of McIntyre cashing in, which distracted Priest. Rollins took advantage and called McIntyre out. Rollins landed a dive to the outside.

Rollins landed a Lionsault for two. Both continued to feel McIntyre was waiting for his moment. Front face DDT by Priest to Rollins. Priest tried to land a Razor's Edge, but Rollins blocked. He landed a flying knee. A Frog Splash connected but only for two. Rollins chopped the knee of Priest, who eventually fought back.

Priest messed around with Rollins, who wasn't having it. The former was chopping Rollins down. Finishing moves got reversed, and Rollins finally hit the Stomp, but only for two. Razor's Edge by Priest but only for two. Up top, Rollins hit a suplex and a Falcon Arrow. McIntyre's music hit and he came out.

McIntyre cashed in, making this a three-way. Superkick to McIntyre. A Stomp attempt turned into a Future Shock DDT to Rollins. Clothesline by Priest. Claymore to Priest. CM Punk came out and attacked McIntyre. He hit McIntyre with a chair and choked him. Punk took the title and hit McIntyre with it. Priest with the South of Heaven for the three.

A lot of layers in this match. Priest and Rollins did a solid job until McIntyre came around. I appreciated the fact both men knew McIntyre was waiting for his time and called him to the ring, adding to the psychology of the match. Looks like McIntyre vs. Punk will be a simple grudge match, though Rollins may look to take out Punk as well.

The women's Money in the Bank ladder match is next.

Tiffy in the Bank: Tiffany Stratton wins women's Money in the Bank match

Chelsea Green started the match in the middle of the ring while everyone got ladders. The hometown favorite took advantage and tried to take the briefcase down with the ladder. Not wise. Iyo Sky and Tiffany Stratton were together and had a great sequence. Lyra Valkyria pushed Sky through a ladder. They botched a DDT attempt.

Zoey Stark bullied Valkyria with suplexes. Stark botched a springboard to Valkyria. Naomi and Stratton used the ladder against one another. It is a bit sloppy to start and everyone will need ice tomorrow. Stratton with a swanton to the outside. Sky tried getting the crowd into it. Valkyria climbed up, but Sky used her body to climb up herself.

Naomi was between two ladders but used her athleticism to take down the competition. Stratton and Naomi had a sequence where they tried to one-up one another. Tables came out and Green and Stratton teamed up. They set up two tables on the outside. Valkyria got hurt following a backdrop to a ladder. Green with an Unprettier to Naomi onto a ladder. Sky with a piledriver to Stark through the ladder.

Green almost had the briefcase, but Stratton stopped her, putting her through those two tables. Stratton grabbed the briefcase.

That match was very sloppy. A lot of people could have gotten seriously hurt. There were a few standout moments though. Stratton winning was the right call. It's officially Tiffy Time.

Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens vs. The Bloodline is next. It looks like it will be Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in the match.

New-look Bloodline stand tall against Rhodes, Orton, and Owens

The Bloodline turned their backs to Rhodes to start, until Tonga got in the ring. Owens got into the ring and ran through Tonga, and Rhodes did the same once back in the ring, and then Orton. Tonga finally broke free and brought in Fatu. Orton believed he had the edge, but Fatu looked like a monster.

Fatu landed a hard Samoan Drop and dragged Orton around, Fatu in the ring now. Tonga in the ring now and Orton finally got to tag Owens, who used his anger to hurt Tonga. Owens with a splash but he could not handle Fatu when he got back into the ring. Sikoa and Owens went back and forth until Sikoa focused on the neck of Owens.

Splash in the corner by Sikoa. Fatu back in and ran through Owens, literally. Tonga had a better opportunity than the start of the match to get some offense in. Owens clawed his way to the corner, but to no avail. Sikoa tried to hurt Owens but he got thrown out the ring. Tonga Loa pushed Orton and Rhodes outside so Owens was all alone.

Whenever Fatu was in the ring, trouble was not far behind. Rhodes finally got into the ring and took Sikoa down. Cody Cutter to Tonga. A dive to Sikoa on the outside connected, but one to Fatu didn't work when Loa took the brunt of it. Fatu was sent into the barricade. Spear by Sikoa, but Rhodes kicked out. Rhodes tried a pedigree but Sikoa hit the referee by accident. Cross Rhodes, an Owens splash, and an RKO landed.

With the referee still down, Rhodes almost put Sikoa through the announce table. Fatu further hurt the referee with a splash in the corner. Owens stunned Tonga. He hit Fatu with a Prime bottle and landed a splash through the announce table. Tonga and Owens in the center of the ring, but Loa got involved. RKO to Loa and to Tonga. Spike by Sikoa. Cross Rhodes to Sikoa, and another. Whisper in the Wind by Fatu to Rhodes followed by a DDT.

A Sikoa spike landed. The referee recovered and The Bloodline won.

The match served its purpose by having Sikoa become the next contender for Rhodes. The new Bloodline story is intriguing, especially as we potentially get closer to Roman Reigns' return. Jacob Fatu is the real deal.
