Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal renew hostilities tonight in California.

Four-and-a-half years on from their first meeting inside the octagon, this time the former UFC rivals will go head to head once again inside the boxing ring in a 10-round light-heavyweight fight.

Masvidal was victorious when the pair last clashed in the headline bout of UFC 244 in New York in November 2019, claiming the inaugural BMF (baddest motherf*****) title in the process after the cage-side doctor controversially called a halt to the bout after the third round with Diaz cut and bleeding around his eye.

It was awarded as a stoppage win for Masvidal, proving to be his last in the UFC as he later suffered back-to-back losses at the hands of Kamaru Usman and further defeats to Colby Covington and Gilbert Burns.

He announced his retirement from fighting after the latter loss at UFC 287 in April 2023, before appearing to reverse that decision earlier this year.

Fellow MMA legend Diaz, meanwhile, was later beaten by Leon Edwards at UFC 263 and made his last octagon appearance in a submission win over Tony Ferguson in September 2022, switching focus to boxing and a high-profile bout with Jake Paul last summer which he lost via decision .

Masvidal’s one and only professional boxing bout to date came almost 20 years ago, when he outpointed Joseph Benjamin over found rounds in Miami.

Diaz vs Masvidal date, start time, venue and ring walks

It was switched from the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California to the Honda Center in Anaheim.

The undercard is due to begin at around 2am BST in the early hours of Sunday morning, with main event ring walks not expected until approximately 5am. As ever, those timings are subject to change.
