Your Weekly Horoscopes: July 7 to 13, 2024
By Jaime Wright,

I’m happy to report that this week continues the dreamy and romantic themes that defined the earlier part of July. The moon is waxing after last week’s beautiful new moon in Cancer, and the challenge is to figure out when it’s time to make a move versus when it’s time to just relax and enjoy the summer. Tension is building as Mars—in usually steady Taurus—approaches a conjunction with extreme Uranus, an aspect that brings unexpected events and sudden shakeups. The full impact of this aspect won’t be felt until the 15th ( when it goes exact), but it will be building all week. As much as it might feel “safe” to stay in your comfort zone, at this point, resisting the change is more destructive than taking a big leap.
Venus, still in sensitive Cancer, connects with spark plug Uranus on the 8th bringing an open-minded and progressive influence to creative and romantic pursuits. Think of this as softer encouragement to take things in a more experimental direction. Mercury sextiles Jupiter on the 8 th , encouraging positive thinking toward this new approach. Then the Sun trines Saturn on the 10 th , bringing patience and allowing us to see how much progress we’ve already made this year toward our goals.
Venus connects with hazy Neptune on the 11 th , amping up all kinds of romantic daydreams. But this watery, emotional landscape doesn’t last as Venus enters Leo later on the 11 th , encouraging a bolder and more direct approach to love. Just be careful this doesn’t turn into an obsessive crush when Venus opposes power planet Pluto on the 12th .
(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that sign too will provide further insight.)
You’re still adjusting to both the material and emotional shifts in your home and family life that came up at last week’s new moon in Cancer. Cancer season is a nostalgic time of year and you’re deep in your feels as you contemplate your roots. You’re also feeling the pressure to earn more and prove your worth. Venus shifts into Leo on the 11 th , bringing on your most romantic time of year. The best way to pull yourself out of a slump is to have a little fun.
Last week’s new moon in Cancer brought you back into contact with so many wonderful friends, and this week you might be feeling overwhelmed trying to manage so many social invitations . Don’t overschedule so much that you end up getting sick! The pressure is building for you to change something up on a personal level and that might mean having to take extra time just for yourself. Venus’s move into Leo on the 11th is a bold cue to spend more time at home in the warm glow of the people who really know you.
The new moon in Cancer last week was a reminder to take a softer approach to both your money and your values. You’re allowed to have a little space to breathe. Despite that healing moment though, you’re feeling very stuck in your head this week, overly worried about saying or doing the wrong thing. Venus’ shift into Leo on the 11th reminds you that in these moments of getting caught in your head, you can always ask a friend to talk it out. Don’t be afraid of saying what you feel.
Last week’s new moon in your sign pushed you to reflect on your personal goals and path forward. Focusing so much on yourself has been exhilarating but you’re feeling tensions brewing in your wider social circle. Some people in your life really can’t handle not being the center of attention. Venus’ move into Leo on the 11th encourages an abundance rather than a scarcity mindset , especially when it comes to friendship. Taking a break from one group doesn’t mean you won’t have anyone else to hang with.
The new moon in Cancer last week left you feeling introspective and vulnerable. This deep dive into your inner world was unsettling but very necessary for your growth. Tensions are building this week with your boss , or within yourself. You want to get ahead and make big moves with your career. Focus on making incremental change rather than blowing it all up at once. Venus’ move into your sign on the 11th is a nudge to be bolder in your self-expression. Flaunt your style and make a statement!
Last week’s new moon in Cancer was such a sweet moment of feeling supported and valued in your social circles. You’re finally finding your people and your audience! Despite those wins, you’re still feeling a lot of restlessness this week. Resist the urge to (literally or figuratively) flee the country and sit with the shockwaves of inspiration instead. Venus’ move into Leo on the 11th finds you going into retreat mode. The rest of this month will be very focused on rest and self-care.
You’re still reeling (and perhaps a little embarrassed) from all the attention you got during last week’s new moon in Cancer. This is much deserved recognition but still, it feels awkward to be pushed out of your comfort zone and into the spotlight. You might find yourself resisting changes you need to make, especially in relationships that lean toward codependency . Venus’ move into Leo on the 11th is a push to cast a wider social net and focus on making friends who inspire you to be bold.
Last week’s new moon in Cancer was a much-needed dose of inspiration. You wish that you could be spending this week down a research rabbit hole, planning your next trip, or practicing Spanish on Duolingo to bond with a new lover. But instead, you’re stuck in the midst of a frustrating argument with your business partner, bestie or boss. This isn’t a new problem but one that’s been building for weeks (or even years). Venus’ entrance into Leo on the 11th pushes you to take control of the situation with compassion and heart.
Revelations from last week’s new moon in Cancer include: Moving in with your partner is way more challenging than you thought it was going to be, and/or it’s impossible to negotiate with someone who doesn’t share your values. All this fighting is really taking a toll on your health. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, you might be working or working out hard to avoid some big feelings . Venus’s entrance to Leo on the 11th is a reminder to focus on the big picture and take note of lessons learned.
Last week’s new moon in Cancer clarified contracts and got you back on the same page with your partner. But there’s still something missing, and this week you feel desperate to get back that spark. What you’re really craving is more intimacy and closer collaborations, both on a personal and professional level. Venus’ entrance into Leo on the 11th pushes you to take on a more pronounced ownership of your desires. No more being shy. Let it roar.
It became very clear during last week’s new moon in Cancer that the only person standing in the way of you living a satisfying life is, well, you. You’re feeling more confident in your priorities and taking steps to improve your health and overall wellness but there’s still a major underlying tension that needs to be addressed. Is there something going on at home or with your family that’s left you feeling insecure? Venus’ shift into Leo on the 11th allows you to lean harder on loved ones for support.
As you come down from the romantic highs of last week’s new moon in Cancer, you’re realizing that you need to make some big changes to your schedule and routine. Pressure is also building in some of your closest relationships and it’s getting harder to avoid conversations you’ve been putting off for weeks (or even years). Venus’ entrance into Leo on the 11th is a bold nudge to focus on taking things one step at a time, improving life little by little and day by day.
This week’s mantra: “Gradual.”
