Swimming Cow Makes Quite a Splash with Spectacular Pool Plunge

There is no shortage of dogs and cats that love to take a dip in the water. With temperatures soaring well into the 90s and, in some places, reaching triple digits, it's easy to understand why they enjoy cooling down. However, it's less common to see farm animals, like cows, paddling through a swimming pool.

Surprisingly, they can enjoy this summer activity like the rest of us. While it may be hard to imagine taking a plunge with a friend this size, this cow offers several advantages.

Even though I grew up in an area of Connecticut where racehorses live a magnificent life, which includes their own swimming pools, I’ve never seen a cow taking a few laps. But I love watching Bruce (@ elias_filmz ) enjoy his day in the sun! I admit, I didn’t know cows could even swim, let alone do it with such grace. While cooling off, he also seems to enjoy watching his dad flip off the diving board and take trips down the slide. This big boy even offers assistance for scoring a few baskets. However, the side-eye he gave the camera when he was being splashed says he may not be a fan of horseplay. OMG! What a personality he has! After getting in his exercise, he even shared a big slice of watermelon with his father, and after taking a few big bites, he captured it for himself.

Can All Cows Swim?

While it may be hard to believe, cows can swim . However, most do it only when necessary to cross streams and lakes to find new spots for grazing. According to North Dakota State University, cows usually seek water or mud to stand it as it can help them stay cool on a hot day and keep the flies away.

People were excited to see Bruce having some summer fun! Viewer @njvm.ig remarked, “That cow is living better than 90% of the US population!” That’s the truth! Summer vibe goals.” Everyone needs a little excitement. Another person responded, “That kiss at the end, though!” It was as if he was thanking him for such a great day!

Even though most of us won’t be swimming or basking on a beach with a cow this summer, it’s a friendly reminder that we all can benefit from a break. Just like Bruce, our dogs and cats will also enjoy extra time off with us.
