WWE Money in the Bank 2024: Trish Stratus to host, eyes on delayed retaliation against Zoey Stark?

Trish Stratus is back in the WWE, but in what capacity? The Hall of Famer is scheduled to host this year’s Money in the Bank in her hometown of Toronto on Saturday, July 6, but there’s a solid chance that’s not the only reason she’ll be in the building at Scotiabank Arena.

That is, however, the part of the story that is confirmed by both Stratus and WWE.

Stratus played up to her home crowd shortly after posting the initial video.

The last time the WWE Universe saw Trish Stratus, the Hall of Famer was enjoying a full heel turn at the expense of Becky Lynch and fellow Hall of Famer Lita, flipping on them both after helping them defeat Damage CTRL for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in 2023.

Months later, Lita was attacked backstage by an unknown assailant, and Stratus would take her place alongside Lynch in a title defense against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

Morgan pinned Stratus who then attacked Lynch and revealed it was she who had attacked Lita, and the “Thank you Trish” movement was born, and with a newfound friend to mentor and serve as her personal bodyguard: Zoey Stark.

That last some time until Stratus became fed up with Stark as well, accusing her of not doing her job in helping the Hall of Famer defeat Lynch in a steel cage match — slapping and humiliating Stark before paying for doing so by receiving a Z360 finisher at WWE Payback 2023.

All has been silent on that front ever since, but with Stark participating in the women’s MITB ladder match, there is no better time for Stratus to exact her revenge after months of letting it simmer, and in front of her home crowd, no less.

It was Stratus who helped Stark get over on RAW after a successful stretch on NXT, and the latter has since been on a productive run of bookings alongside her new teammate, Shayna Baszler, though the two have been unable to get their hands on the tag team titles.

The MITB briefcase will be the best chance thus far for Stark to win a singles title at the non-NXT level, but Stratus might have other plans.

After all, Stratus isn’t exactly known for being forgiving to those she believes owe her.
