WILMOT TOWNSHIP, Pa. ( WETM ) — Part of a road in southern Bradford County will be closed for most of the summer while an embankment is stabilized.

According to PennDOT, Route 187 in Wilmot Township will be closed from Coyle Road (T-414) to Grant Hill Road (Route 2003) starting on Monday, July 8, while crews repair an embankment failure. Work in this area will include excavation, rock placement, drainage work, and pavement restoration.

Detours will be in place while the embankment is being stabilized and the roadway is being reconstructed. Northbound vehicles will take a detour that uses Route 87, Ambrosius Road (Route 2009), and Route 187 in Hollenback while southbound vehicles take a detour that uses Ambrosius Road, Route 87, and Route 187 in Lovelton.

This roadwork project is expected to be completed by Aug. 30, but the weather could cause this date to be pushed back.
