    CCSO: Man arrested for shooting firearm towards ocean

    SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — A man was arrested after shooting his gun toward the ocean, authorities say.

    At 3:15 a.m. on Friday, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Beach Access 6 in reference to a man discharging his gun.

    Deputies made contact with County Park Rangers who had already detained the man.

    CCSO: Inmate assaults Carrizales Rucker detention officer

    The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Randy Mora, who stated he had discharged his 9mm handgun toward the water on the beach side, the release stated.

    Deputies obtained witness statements corroborating the incident and arrested Mora for disorderly conduct.

    The 9mm handgun was recovered from his vehicle and booked as evidence.

    Mora was transported to Carrizales Rucker Detention Center for arraignment.
