Even though we’re still in the pits of summer heat, it’s nice to have different options for bottoms to wear while you work out or lounge around the house. After all, you don’t have to wear biker shorts or active shorts all summer long. And one of Old Navy’s newest joggers is a good, comfortable option for your next gym sesh. They also look very similar to styles at Athleta and Spanx which are up to three times the price.
We’re talking about the High-Waisted PowerSoft Joggers , which are currently on sale for $27.99 at Old Navy (they were originally $39.99). They have a very flowy, loose look near the hip area and are tight at the ankles, giving it almost a parachute pant look (but not in a bad way). These joggers have a thick waistband that is a new design for Old Navy; it’s made to have “more hold” and “less pinching.” These joggers are made with a “breathable” go-dry, sweat-wicking “PowerSoft” fabric made from 77% recycled polyester and 23% spandex.
These joggers’s ankle cuffs are banded and the pockets are big enough for a phone. They’re high-waisted as their name suggests, so they sit at your belly button while hitting at your ankle. The PowerSoft Joggers come in three colors—Boxwood (maroon), a gray camo and Black Jack—and regular, tall and petite sizing.
Even though these are somewhat newer, the ratings and reviews are already positive.
"Best mom joggers ever!" one reviewer wrote. "I love these joggers. They are made from a soft material. The high waist is perfect for my mom bod. I love that they are not skin-tight like leggings."
Another person wrote that they’re "very comfortable, warm and [go] with many different things" while yet one more shopper wrote that they’re “comfy and fit perfectly.”
"Love these!” they continued. “Already have them in navy and had to have this new color too! Love them just as much"
In addition to those flattering words, Old Navy’s joggers also rival styles from Athleta and Spanx. Athleta’s Venice High Rise Jogger is $98 and nearly identical to Old Navy’s High-Waisted PowerSoft Joggers. On top of the fact that their Spiced Cabernet color is similar to Old Navy’s Boxwood color, the style itself is also very similar. They both have a thick waistband, banded ankle cuffs and a looser fit around the hips that taper down. The main differences include the fabric—Athleta’s pants are made with 75% nylon and 25% lycra elastane—and the fact that Athleta’s pants have zippered pockets.
Moving on to the Spanx pants that are similar are the Soft & Smooth Slim Jogger Pant . They’re currently $118 and only come in “Very Black,” but the design is so similar as they also have a thick waistband and banded ankle cuffs. Spanx’s joggers are smoothing with light compression, plus they’re sweat-wicking and “buttery-soft.” They’re close to Old Navy’s fabric, made with 69% polyester and 31% lycra elastane.
So whether you want an additional pair of workout pants or you just love joggers, Old Navy’s High-Waisted PowerSoft Joggers are a good pair to check out, especially with its affordable price and higher-end lookalikes.
