At a recent concert at Hyde Park in London, Morgan Wallen broke the record for the largest country concert ever in the U.K. 50,000 people gathered at the venue to see him perform, the most that have come together for a country music concert in recent U.K. history.

The London concert is part of Wallen’s One Night At A Time headlining stadium tour. He’s playing all his hits, including the Post Malone duet “I Had Some Help.” He also played his recent single “Lies Lies Lies,” which dropped today, July 5.

Wallen had previously debuted the new song as part of his Abbey Road Sessions which were posted on his YouTube channel in March this year. However, the studio version of the song was released today, after fans were left clamoring for more new music.

He will return to the U.S. for a run of shows before heading back overseas in August for his first European headlining shows. He will play in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Glasgow, and more, as well as back-to-back shows in Dublin.

Morgan Wallen Was Previously Close to Breaking Another Record, This Time On the Charts

Previously, Morgan Wallen was on his way to overtake Garth Brooks with his total number of career weeks on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. His recent album, One Thing at a Time, has spent 51 weeks atop the chart, and at the time of reporting was still there. His 2021 album Dangerous: The Double Album, spend 97 weeks atop the chart, while his 2018 debut, If I Know Me, spent two weeks at No. 1.

With all those weeks combined over his career, Wallen has spent a whopping 151 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Album chart. Only Garth Brooks was ahead of him with a massive count of 173 total weeks. Wallen only needed 23 more weeks to break that record.

Some fans argued that there’s no real way to compare the two, as they got their start in completely different centuries. Additionally, other stated that there was no account for streaming. Other fans were in complete support of Wallen, with one stating “Morgan Wallen is the music industry.”
