The SEC needs to go ahead and drop their own hype video for the 2o24-25 season. Though at this point, they've got a couple of really good ones that fans have already put together on their behalf that they could choose from. Unofficially, this has been the summer of "put a heart-pounding country song to football highlights and call it a hype tape," and I've loved every second of it. Seriously though... I've kept a close eye on social media over the past couple of months and the number of self-made videos highlighting upcoming college football conference seasons has been astounding. And I'm not going to say that one music genre is superior, but every single one I've laid eyes on has featured a kick-ass country song setting the tone for the clip. The first one I saw pop up online was actually
another one for the SEC . Utilizing the all-time classic Tanya Tucker song "Delta Dawn" and overlaying it over aerial stadium shots is enough to send chills down the spines of SEC fans (and probably degenerate gamblers as well). Another was for the BIG 12 , and leaned upon the services of Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings . "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" perfectly matched the fan-made footage it accompanied. Which brings us to this newest one I've spotted, and boy oh boy, is it a good one. Whoever put this one together cued it up to Luke Combs
' newest single "Ain't No Love In Oklahoma," which is featured in the country-ified Twisters soundtrack . The high-energy country tune is great in its own right, but after seeing this video, it's as if it was created to enhance random football clips thrown together. The only issue I can see with "Ain't No Love In Oklahoma" is that it could be somewhat of a biased song choice, considering the University of Oklahoma just moved into the SEC (along with Texas). However, the song's message could work two ways - it could either mean that Oklahoma doesn't show anyone love when they come there to play, or that the rest of the SEC won't be granting grace to the Sooners when they play them in their state. If you forget about that aspect though, the video itself is sure to get you FIRED UP for the upcoming college football season, even if you aren't an SEC fan. And if anyone in college football media departments sees this, they should take note that Luke Combs' voice is a perfect match for gridiron glory.
