Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph and her family have emerged safely after weathering Hurricane Beryl in Jamaica, where the storm brought heavy rains and disrupted power across the island’s southern coast.

Ralph, known for her role in “Abbott Elementary,” reassured fans and followers in a video posted Thursday, expressing gratitude for their prayers during the tumultuous weather.

“We don’t have electricity right now, but we are thankful for our safety,” Ralph shared amidst the aftermath of the storm.

She had been in Kingston for her son’s wedding, undeterred by the weather’s challenges, and remained optimistic about the ceremony proceeding as planned.

“Despite the storm’s impact, we’re praying for clear skies,” Ralph mentioned in her updates, emphasizing resilience in the face of adversity.

While Jamaica endured damage to its infrastructure, Prime Minister Andrew Holness confirmed the island avoided the worst of the storm’s effects.

However, neighboring islands like Carriacou faced severe devastation, with reports indicating widespread destruction of buildings and urgent recovery efforts underway.

Grenada’s Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell highlighted the need for extensive rebuilding in affected areas.

Looking ahead, Hurricane Beryl, now downgraded to a tropical storm, continues its path towards northeastern Mexico and southern Texas.

The storm’s trajectory remains monitored closely by meteorological authorities for potential further impact.

As recovery efforts continue across the Caribbean, Ralph urged continued support and positivity towards those affected, echoing a message of solidarity amidst the storm’s aftermath.
