MUNSON TOWNSHIP , Ohio (WJW) — A high-end sports car crashed into a building in Geauga County on Saturday, killing the driver and causing the car and building to erupt in flames, according to officials.

It happened along U.S. Route 322 near the intersection of Bass Lake Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Christopher Rossi, 43, of Kirtland Hills, was driving a 2023 Lamborghini Huracán west on U.S. Route 322 “at a high rate of speed” when he lost control and went off the right side of the roadway, striking a mulch bed with large landscaping rocks, according to the release. The car went airborne into the building and Rossi was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Both the car and the building caught fire.

The passenger escaped and was transported to a nearby hospital, then later flown to a Cleveland hospital with serious injuries, troopers said.
