FHP: Fatal Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Orlando Man, 30, in Orange County

Orange County, FL. – Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are currently on the scene of a fatal crash that took place at approximately 7:05 P.M. on N Hiawassee Road and Burroughs Drive in Orlando, Orange County.

Preliminary evidence indicates that a 2019 Toyota Highlander was traveling westbound on Burroughs Drive, approaching the intersection with N Hiawassee Road. Simultaneously, a 2024 KTM Motorcycle was traveling northbound on N Hiawassee Road in the outside lane, also approaching the same intersection.

The crash occurred when the driver of the Toyota Highlander, a 42-year-old female from Orlando, attempted to make a left turn, entering the direct path of the oncoming motorcycle. As a result, the front of the KTM Motorcycle collided with the left side of the Toyota Highlander.

Tragically, the rider of the KTM Motorcycle, a 30-year-old Orlando man whose identity is still pending confirmation, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota Highlander was not injured and remained on-site to cooperate with authorities.

Currently, both directions of travel on N Hiawassee Road are blocked as troopers conduct their investigation. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time. Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
