Luka Doncic's Painfully Honest Review Of Slovenia's Blowout Loss To Greece In Olympic Qualifiers

For the second time in the span of three weeks, Luka Doncic watched the teams he was playing for painfully crumble right before his eyes. Just weeks after the Dallas Mavericks lost to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, Doncic and Slovenia have been eliminated from the Olympic qualifiers after suffering a brutal loss to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece on Saturday.

There was nothing Luka could do as Slovenia saw its Olympic dream end with an embarrassing 96-68 defeat in the Olympic Qualifiers.

After the game, a dejected Doncic delivered a painfully honest assessment of Greece's dominant performance in the win.

“First of all, they have Giannis, which is a lot," said the Mavs star. "But they have other players like Calathes and Walkup, who organize the team very well. Very experienced team. They know how to play basketball and they’re well coached.”

Antetokounmpo played just 21 minutes in this one, finishing with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, and a block. It was far from a mind-blowing performance for the Milwaukee Bucks talisman.

As Doncic said, Slovenia was just completely overmatched in this game.
