Power restored to 2,200 customers in Richmond and Lancaster counties

RICHMOND COUNTY, Va. -- More than 2,200 customers in Richmond and Lancaster counties were without power late Saturday, according to officials with the Northern Neck Electric Cooperative.

Officials said an equipment failure in the Robley substation was to blame.

Crews were at the site and "will be actively working towards restoration," a spokesperson wrote in an email around 10:20 p.m.

While officials warned that the outage "may be prolonged," lineworkers and engineers were able to isolate the issue and make repairs.

As a result, power had been restored to all members as of about 11:35 p.m., according to officials.
