Chennedy Carter's Ruthless Comment About Caitlin Clark Backfires Spectacularly

Earlier in the 2024 WNBA season, Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter become the subject of public ridicule for her blindside flagrant foul on Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark.

Carter took to social media to face the backlash. In the process, she issued a ruthless criticism of Clark's game.

"Beside three point shooting what does she bring to the table man," Carter wrote.

On Saturday afternoon, Clark led the Fever to victory over the league-best New York Liberty — becoming the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double. The No. 1 overall pick recorded 19 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds — bringing quite a bit to the table.

Carter's old jab at Clark is going viral on social media after the Fever rookie's historic performance.

It's fair to say her comment did not age well.

Clark is beginning to blossom into one of the league's premier playmakers. The former Iowa superstar has notched a points-assists double-double in four of her last five games — surpassing Sue Bird for the all-time rookie record. She's averaging 16.0 points, 7.1 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game as she quickly approaches her first WNBA All-Star appearance.

Clark and the Fever will look to capitalize on their momentum in Wednesday's matchup against the Washington Mystics.

Carter and the Sky will face off against the Seattle Storm on Sunday evening.
