Former UFC title challengers Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal squared off inside the boxing ring Saturday night.

After 10 rounds of back-and-forth action, Diaz earned his redemption, scoring a majority decision.

Right from the start, Diaz took control of the ring with his head and body strikes. Diaz also had strong finishes to the latest parts of the early rounds to gain an advantage.

In round five, Masvidal started to turn the corner, throwing plenty of strikes that were finally finding a home. The rest of the fight was a showcase of all offense, no defense as neither fighter had a desire to protect and just strike.

The event streamed live on DAZN and pay-per-view, along with airing on UFC Fight Pass.

Diaz and Masvidal met inside the Octagon at UFC 244 in 2019. That night, a doctor’s stoppage after the third round ended the bout in favor of Masvidal, as he claimed the “BMF” title.

Last year, Diaz made his professional boxing debut, losing to Jake Paul via decision. Masvidal, meanwhile, won his last boxing match in 2005.

The bout was delayed from a planned June date. It was originally scheduled for the Kia Forum on June 1 but officials moved it to the later date and changed to the Honda Center in Anaheim.

In the co-main event, Shane Mosley Jr. downed Daniel Jacobs, scoring a decision on all three scorecards. Mosley, the son of former world champion Shane Mosley, dominated the fight.

Chris Avila earned a decision over former UFC champion Anthony Pettis in another featured bout. Curmel Moton, Amado Vargas and Devin Cushing were other main card winners.
