HOBOKEN, NJ-  Hudson County Executive Craig Guy has highlighted plans to crack down on illegal vehicle activity in county parks.

With the summer months now in full effect, Hudson County residents and visitors are increasingly using park facilities like playgrounds, ballfields, and trails. This new initiative will emphasize regulations prohibiting people from riding vehicles that could endanger park visitors.

“In Hudson County, our children’s safety is priority number one,” said County Executive Guy. “As we enter the summer months, more and more children and their families will take advantage of their school vacations to enjoy our county parks. And that means doubling down on our efforts to keep them safe.”

“I will work with the Board of County Commissioners to ensure those illegally operating motorized scooters, dirt bikes, and all-terrain vehicles in our parks will be held accountable. Our parks must remain a safe space for pedestrians and responsible bikers.”

This new initiative will include working with the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office to establish stricter enforcement measures aimed at curbing illegal vehicle activity, new signage throughout county parks detailing regulations regarding motorized vehicles in parks, and a social media public information campaign.
