Dickinson County Crash Claims One Life

(Dickinson County) One person died, and another person suffered injuries in a single-vehicle crash in Dickinson County.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 10:12 p.m. on Saturday at 130th Avenue (M27) and 131st Avenue. Authorities say a passenger, 19-year-old Edith Lupercio-Lopez of Sioux Center, died in the crash. The driver, 18-year-old Teagan Vos of Sheldon, Iowa, suffered critical injuries.

According to the report, Vos was driving a 2019 Kia Stinger northbound on 130th Avenue, failed to negotiate the curve, crossed the centerline, entered the northwest ditch, overturned, crossed 131st Avenue, and came to rest in the north ditch of 131 Avenue.

Spirit Lake ambulance transported Teagan Vos to Spirit Lake Hospital, and Turner Jenness Funeral Home transported Edith Lupercio-Lopez to the Medical Examiner in Ankeny.
