Dad’s Nifty Pancake Hack Ensures Crispy Pieces in Every Bite

If you prefer waffles over pancakes, it’s probably because you enjoy the browned crispy bites. Like toasted bread, those golden edges are something extra special and are the perfect holders for butter and syrup. But pancakes have advantages, too, and those tender cakes can be equally delicious. So, if you can combine the best of both breakfasts, it’s a guaranteed hit!
Although it may sound impossible to achieve, this dad figured out how to make it happen. Check out his brilliant method in this video from June 30:
This is a genius move! How has no one thought to do this before? Cecil’s (@ ccwalkerr ) dad has definitely created something special here. She tells us that he likes to have a crispy edge in every bite, so he began making his pancakes as O’s. This way, there’s no soggy center and plenty of brown edges to go around. It is total perfection! He has earned the right to wear that hat, as he is now indisputably the Captain of Breakfast.
To make creating these pancakes simple , put the batter into a squirt bottle for easy dispensing. If you have young children, you can use this method to create numbers or letters to make learning fun. And you’ll still be able to get all those tasty edges. These flapjacks can also be stacked with layers of whipped cream, cream cheese, fruit, or Nutella in between for an extra special treat. If you’re looking for additional protein, use ham, sausage, or bacon to create savory layers. For birthdays or special occasions, add different colored food dyes to the batter to make a tie-dye effect. This versatile breakfast is not only tasty, but it can be lots of fun!
People were excited about Dad’s brilliant idea, and many felt this center was the perfect place to put butter, fruit, or syrup. Viewer @myah reported, “This sent me into a 2-hour spiral of trying to find a shape that would give me the maximum crispy edge. Research inconclusive.” There’s likely nothing more effective than the O. Viewer @stinkabutt remarked, “Not even Albert Einstein could think of something this innovative.” Undoubtedly, his invention would impress the genius himself if he were here to try them. Viewer @Texisbest responded, “Well, your dad just changed my life! This is the only way I will ever cook pancakes from now on.” It’s such a game-changer.
While they may be a traditional breakfast food, this has inspired me to make them for dinner. I think my family will be equally excited to try them.
