For the second premium live event in a row, World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest was involved in a botch, which became the big talking point on social media after his match. And while getting his leg caught in the ropes at Clast At The Castle was embarrassing, the fact he didn’t kick out at Money In The Bank when he was meant to has left many fans questioning whether he is the right person to be champion.

However, it appears his boss, Triple H, isn’t too concerned as he would acknowledge the botch during the post-show press conference by saying, “ Mistakes happen, things happen, it is what it is.

“Human beings in a ring, mistakes happen, things happen, it is what it is. It’s funny for me now looking at that, if that was something I was involved in as a talent, I don’t care how good the rest of it was, that would be all I would think about. And to me, it’s a shame that that’s all people will talk about, and that’s all people will hit Damian Priest with while he had a phenomenal performance tonight … I hate for it to be like, ‘Oh yeah, you’re that guy that didn’t kick out the one time’. That’s the shame part to me because his performance tonight was off the charts, as was Seth’s, as was Drew’s, as was Punk’s, as was everybody else in this show tonight. It’s just the way the world works.”

It’s been long known that WWE protocol is that referees should count the pin if the shoulders are down on three, regardless of how big the match is. Therefore, it will be interesting to see whether Rod Zapata, who was the official for the match, gets any backstage heat for stoping the count, especially as he was previously fined for counting Ronda Rousey’s shoulders down at WrestleMania 35 when they weren’t. Yet, Vince McMahon was in charge at that time, so such instances could now be treated differently under Triple H.
