Robert Irwin 's workout was interrupted once again by a surprising creature, with the 20-year-old expertly rescuing a microbat hanging out in his gym.

The son of Terri and Steve Irwin shared the experience with fans on TikTok, captioning the clip , "Surprise microbat rescue… how cute!" In the video, Robert found the microbat, which was a few inches long, on the floor near his weights.

He lifted the creature to the camera, saying, "I usually like to have a little look at him, make sure they're OK, and then just put him somewhere up a little bit, so that they can take flight again if they need to."

Robert also touched on the "fear of bats or a misunderstanding of them" many people have, explaining that they are "really beautiful and very important animals." He then shared a few reasons, noting that bats tend to be pollinators and control bug populations, among other things.

After placing the microbat in a good location, Robert ended the video by warning fans not to touch the bat with their bare hands if they find themselves in a similar situation and instead call for animal rescue.

Fans loved the educational message and Robert's natural charm, such as a fan who joked, "*educates us* …'btw. Everything I did in this video, don’t do. Ok have a good day' 😂🫶🏽."

"Great Work! ❤️," wrote a different fan, while another chimed in, "YOUR DAD is why I love bats and many other animals most people are terrified of!"

Others also commented on how much Robert takes after his dad Steve, with replies like, "he is so much like his dad lol talks about it and at the end of the video says now 'Don't touch with bare hands like I did,'" and "If I close my eyes I feel like we still have Steve Irwin with us 😭 im so proud of rob! 🥰."

Robert and his sister, Bindi , have taken after their parents and are heavily involved in wildlife conservation, working alongside their mother, Terri , in Australia.
