FENTON TWP (WWJ) An unknown suspect shot and killed a business owner inside a home in Fenton Township, the sheriff’s office.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office said they were dispatched for a suspicious death of a man in his thirties at an apartment at Jennings and Thompson roads on Saturday (7/6) around 5:49 p.m.— about two hours after people in the area heard shots, and an hour after his family arrived home to find his body.

“We know now it was a homicide, a very violent homicide,” Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson said in a press briefing.

Swanson said the victim—identified as Orhan Hosic— was shot “multiple times.” Swanson said Hosic was from Metro Detroit, but lived at his apartment in Fenton Township and ran a home business.

Investigators did not specify what type of business he ran.

According to Swanson, witnesses reported seeing a new-model orange Camaro in the neighborhood around the time of the murder and later driving down the expressway at a “high rate of speed.”

Swanson said the shooting was “not random, very deliberate.”

“The neighborhood doesn’t have anything to worry about, other than a tragedy occurring in their backyard,” Swanson said.

He added the scene has been cleared, and the sheriff’s office is working with Hosic's family.

The sheriff's office is asking for any tips at all regarding the orange Camaro (including surveillance video) or the shooting.

"Those are just little pieces of the puzzle," Swanson said. "Even if you don't think they're important, we want you to...call...."

Anyone with any information related to the shooting is asked to call 911 or the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch 24/7 at (810) 257-3422.
