Minnie Driver Revealed That Doing This With Her Famous Ex Would’ve Been the ‘Biggest Mistake’ of Her Life

Along with being a truly beloved star, Minnie Driver has also been linked to some pretty beloved stars as well, from Matt Damon to Josh Brolin. While she recently spoke fondly about the romance she had with Damon back in the 1990s, she sort of had a different story to tell with her ex-fiancé Brolin.

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times , the Good Will Hunting star referred to the idea of marrying Brolin as being the “biggest mistake of my life.”

“The one time I was engaged, it would have been, I think, the biggest mistake of my life,” she said. “If I look at my history, what it did was make me want to be married so much and then choose men who were so not the right men to be married to. So I would carry on longing to be married and to have that conservative version [of a relationship], find men who had no interest in that, and then if one did, run a mile.”

For those who need a recap, Driver and Brolin met and fell in love on the set of the 2000 film Slow Burn. They got engaged in 2000, and after six months of being engaged, they broke up in Oct 2001. They kept their romance quite private from the public eye, and even today, there’s not much known.

While they split up, Driver did eventually find the perfect man for her: writer and director Addison O’Dea. The pair have been dating since 2019, and in the same interview, she gushed about him, saying how he’s basically her perfect match.

“Now I’m with someone who doesn’t want to get married but who is the most devoted, loving, extraordinary…. Everything I could have wanted in my childhood idea of a husband, he actually is,” she said.
