In an Instagram post on Sunday, the Dallas Buyers Club Oscar winner, 54, and the 41-year-old model and designer marked their eldest child's birthday by sweetly sharing photos of Levi and offering him some well-informed advice on growing up.
"Alright Levi, coming on that age, buddy -- [you're] about to be out on your own. Me and your mom hope we've done as good of a job as we can," McConaughey says via a voiceover. "You're not going to really have us as a safety net out there in the wonderful, wild world forever."
He continues, "Just go out, just enjoy. Be aware of your surroundings, be yourself.Know when to sayyes, know when to say no, know when to saymaybe. See the good in everybody else but that not everyone else is always paying attention."
The doting mom and dad --who tied the knot in 2012 and also share 14-year-old daughter Vida and 11-year-old son Livingston -- go on to share that above all else, they hope that their first-born slows down and smells the proverbial roses from time to time.
"Take your time. Enjoy the journey," the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star states in the vid, which includes shots of the parents with their teenage son. He reiterated the concept in the caption of the post, tagging Levi's account and adding the hashtag, "Happy birthday."

At the time, the mom and dad shared that they were nervous for the milestone, but that they decided to put their trust in their young son.
"He knows who he is and he knows where he's going," McConaughey said in a video birthday message last year. "I think he can handle it. He's got a great story to tell and share. I wanna let all y'all know you're getting a very cool and respectful young man in Levi McConaughey coming at you. And I hope y'all will do your best to treat him the same way."
Since then, Levi has devoted his page to sharing life updates, hilarious throwback pics and epic photos and videos from his teenage adventures -- including nailing a rap by Travis Scott while attending a concert back in November.
In April 2023, McConaughey opened up on Chelsea Handler 's Dear Chelsea podcast about his relationship with his kids and how he and his wife strive to raise their children in a way that will make them productive, strong and kind individuals.
"I noticed early on that these young people are who they are. I can shepherd them, nudge them. I can put in front of them what lights their fire and try to keep them from hurting themselves too bad, but other than that they are who they are," McConaughey shared.
He added, "I'm not making [them get] straight As, but I think it's going pretty well. I've got some considerate children. Hopefully, they can get out of the house confident, having an idea of who the hell they are and who they're not."
